Community Program

The Community Program will highlight innovative participation by communities affected by HIV/AIDS in the areas of HIV research, prevention, care, treatment, advocacy and human rights. The program will provide opportunities for learning, teaching and sharing of experiences, and will feature a dynamic program of cultural events throughout the Conference venue and Bangkok. Highlights include:
  • Workshops and sessions to encourage dialogue and explore new community-based approaches and strategies to further the goal of Access for All
  • The first-ever Global Village, where non-delegates will interact with Conference attendees, thereby demonstrating that community is not just based on geography, but is also defined by shared vision and experiences
  • Special youth programming organised by and for youth, which will highlight the need for targeted prevention and treatment programs focusing on young people, and will facilitate the development of youth networks and leadership
  • The vibrant Silabha Art and Cultural Program, featuring more than 150 artists, musicians and filmmakers from around the world; and
  • Opportunities for networking among non-governmental organisations (based on issues or identities) and a platform for the many diverse community-based organizations working on HIV/AIDS.
