Community Gathering
Dear friends and colleagues,
On behalf of the Community Program Committee, we would like to invite you to join the Community Gathering at the XV International AIDS Conference on Sunday 11 July 2004. The Community Gathering will be the first meeting point for community delegates from all over the world. This event will set the scene for community involvement in the Conference and build solidarity across a range of community networks spanning the globe. The Gathering begins with a welcome lunch, followed by reports from the regional HIV/AIDS conferences and an orientation to the Conference and the many community projects within it. It continues with break-out sessions for networks and interest groups to plan their role in the Conference. The Community Gathering will close in time for delegates to join the Opening Ceremony. The Gathering will demonstrate the power of community to shape the global response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic and allow community delegates to plan how to maximise their contribution to the Conference. The Community Gathering will begin at 11:30am in the tent directly across from Hall 2 of the IMPACT Exhibition Centre.
