The Debby Project (Janelle Fawkes) - performance, installation and sound-scape
The Debby project examines stigmatisation and discrimination, the impact of legislation on the work and lives of sex workers, the relationship between sex workers and their clients and the negotiation of safe sex. It also explores the contradictions between portrayals of sex work in the mainstream media and the reality of the working lives of sex workers. Mainstream depictions of sexworkers are often hollow stereotypes of the sex industry, but the Debby Project works are based on real sex worker experiences. On 13 July 11:30am-1pm the Debbies will be at the NGO Booth and 15 July noon-1pm along the hallway. They will also be in the Exhibition Centre, Hall 3/D.

Julia will sing at the Film Festival Warmer outside Lido Cinema on 10 July 1-5pm, at the opening of the Goethe Institut ‘Com.passion’ events on 10 July 6pm, at the AIDS Film Festival Opening at Scala Cinema in Siam Square on July 12, 6pm, at Lumpini Hall 14 July 8pm-10pm and at the Community Party in Global Village 16 July 2pm onwards.
