About the profiles
In 2004, as we confront both unprecedented opportunities and an epidemic that continues expanding, leadership is needed now more than ever. In countries where significant progress has been made against HIV/AIDS, leaders from all walks of life have joined together in the struggle. Collectively, we know how to reverse this global epidemic and can only do so through strong, united leadership -- leadership that must come from each sector of society and every level, from local villages to parliamentary congresses.
The Leadership Program of the International AIDS Conference proudly presents these profiles of leaders who have made a difference in their communities and countries. We hope that you will be inspired and encouraged to continue your own fight, looking towards a bright future with no AIDS.
